Gwilym is the first composer in residence with the NDR Big Band
Gwilym has recently written an hour long suite of music “The Sawgrass Suite” for the NDR Big Band which will be performed in Hamburg on 9th May

Gwilym to play with Pablo Held at the Pizza Express Steinway Festival on 19th March
Gwilym has long been an admirer of Pablo Held but they have never played together. Both were very much influenced by the late John Taylor. This year they will be teaming up at the Steinway Festival on Tuesday 19th March at Pizza Express Jazz Club.

Gwilym’s trio at QEH for BBC Young Jazz Musician final
Gwilym is delighted that again his band will back the finalists in this year’s BBC Young Jazz Musician. This year it will be part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, at the Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall.
This year’s finalists will perform with Gwilym, jazz bassist and composer Paula Gardiner and jazz drummer and composer Asaf Sirkis.
Johannes Berauer’s Hourglass launch plus Gwilym with Joe Locke at Kings Place
Gwilym will play a set with vibraphonist Joe Locke at Kings Place on 5th September before the album launch of a new album out on Basho “Hourglass” featuring new music by Austrian composer Johannes Berauer. Gwilym also features in the Hourglass quintet together with Mike Walker on guitar, Thomas Gould on violin, Martin Berauer on electric bass and Bernard Schimpelsberger on percussion and drums.
