The new record features ten compositions by Metheny, who is joined by long-time drummer, Antonio Sanchez, Malaysian/Australian bassist Linda May Han Oh, and British pianist Gwilym Simcock as well as the Hollywood Studio Symphony conducted by Joel McNeely. Meshell Ndegeocello (vocals), Gregoire Maret (harmonica), and Luis Conte (percussion) are special guests on From This Place, Metheny’s first album of new material since 2014’s Kin (←→).
Gwilym on tour in Australia and South America with “An Evening with Pat Metheny”
Gwilym will be back on tour with jazz legend guitarist Pat Metheny. The quartet includes Pat, Gwilym, Linda Oh (bass) and Antonio Sanchez (drums). Gwilym played a great duo gig with bass player John Patitucci on Saturday at the London Guitar and Bass Guitar Show at the Islington Design Centre where John was awarded the lifetime achievement award from Bass Magazine

Gwilym will be touring in the US, UK and Mainland Europe celebrating his forthcoming solo piano album “Near and Now”. The touring starts in late February but there will be dates throughout the year.
