Gwilym  will be playing a special 20th anniversary concert at Wiltshire Music Centre on 9th December 2017

Gwilym  and leading saxophonist Rob Buckland join forces with a classical string quartet to perform original compositions and arrangements inspired by French music and musicians. Drawing on their wide ranging experience as collaborative jazz artists, they will explore links between jazz, improvisation and the music of Debussy, Dutilleux and Ravel.

Gwilym will be back on tour with jazz legend guitarist Pat Metheny.  The quartet includes Pat, Gwilym,  Linda Oh (bass) and Antonio Sanchez (drums).  The concert is called “An Evening with Pat Metheny” and features  many of the great classics from the Pat Metheny Real Book. Do check the dates for more information. The brand new Ambleside Festival will feature Dave Holland, Norma Winstone, Tim Garland,  Asaf Sirkis, John Halliwell, Gwilym Simcock,  Mike Walker, Nikki Iles, Mark Lockheart, Steve Watts, James Maddren, Darrell Hall and Joe Locke – all  musicians inspired by  the great British pianist John Taylor. Gwilym on Tour this summer with Wolfgang Muthspiel Quintet

Gwilym will be on back on tour with guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel,  with his Rising Grace Project.

This tour will feature trumpeter Tim Hagans, bassist  Larry Grenadier and drummer  Jeff Ballard. Wolfgang’s latest release is with ECM Records “Rising Grace”. The tour will take the band to the Garana Festival in Timisoara, Romania, North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam,  Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Casa del Jazz in Rome, Judenburg in Germany and a visit to one of Gwilym’s favourite hotels – where he has recorded two albums – Schloss Elmau in southern Germany.

Gwilym Simcock playing a short series of solo concerts in US and Canada

Gwilym  will be playing a series of solo piano concerts in the US and Canada starting 23rd June

Gwilym starts a short solo tour of the US and Canada beginning at Rochester Jazz Festival and ending at Montreal Jazz Festival. In between he will visit Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cleveland, Ohio and Toledo, Ohio.  You can also catch him playing solo in the UK in September at the Kenilworth Festival in September.

Gwilym will be playing some concerts this Spring with fabulous violinist Thomas Gould.

Hear them in Manchester, London, Bradford on Avon and Hull.
Thomas Gould and Gwilym will play an eclectic mix of Bach, arranged as only Gwilym can, alongside more contemporary jazz pieces.  In Manchester they will be appearing at the new Stoller Hall at Chetham’s School of music with Salford guitarist Mike Walker with whom Gwilym plays in The Impossible Gentlemen.  In London these three musicians will be joined by bassist Martin Berauer and percussionist Bernhard Schimpelsberger at Thom’s old school UCS in Hampstead.
