After a hectic September touring the US with Pat Metheny, a three week tour with The Impossible Gentlemen Gwilym is turning his hand to yet another creative project with Welsh singer Kizzy Crawford and players from Sinfonia Cymru. Birdsong / Can Yr Adar tells a story through music inspired by Carngafallt, home to a complex ecosystem, which makes up some of the country’s rainforest territory and can be found near Powys. There are dates in Wales with a finale on 14th November at The Hampstead Arts Festival as part of the EFG London Jazz Festival.
This special performance tours venues across Wales this November, featuring the beautiful sounds of a classical ensemble from Sinfonia Cymru. Created in partnership with RSPB Cymru, audiences will be treated to unique sounds and visuals that come together to salute all that’s beautiful about the natural environment. This mix of instrumental, English language and Welsh language songs is one not to be missed.
Visual artist Ruby Fox, who has always felt drawn to fully immersing herself in natural environments, has also created a visual treat for audiences to feel lost in the rainforest, and to help escape from the busyness of modern life.

Is there a recording anywhere of can yr Adar ?
I missed the chance when it was live and was entranced when happened to hear a late radio 4 program about it.
A plan to say hello after the gig last weekend was abandoned due to heat humidity and sweat.
