After a hectic year touring the US and Europe with Pat Metheny, a two week tour with Wolfgang Muthspiel Gwilym will be recording his Birdsong project with Welsh singer Kizzy Crawford and players from Sinfonia Cymru. Birdsong / Can Yr Adar tells a story through music inspired by Carngafallt, home to a complex ecosystem, which makes up some of the country’s rainforest territory and can be found near Powys. Thanks are due to The Hampstead Arts Festival, PRS Foundation and Sinfonia Cymru who have generously funded this recording.
This launch of the album will be on May 10th 2018 at Hampstead Arts Festival, with a Welsh launch shortly thereafter. Created in partnership with RSPB Cymru, audiences will be treated to unique sounds and visuals that come together to salute all that’s beautiful about the natural environment. This mix of instrumental, English language and Welsh language songs is one not to be missed.
Visual artist Ruby Fox, who has always felt drawn to fully immersing herself in natural environments, has also created a visual treat for audiences to feel lost in the rainforest, and to help escape from the busyness of modern life.
