Gwilym played a solo concert at the incredible Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris on 5th May 2018.  The spectacular building was designed by Frank Gehry and was opened in 2014 as a cultural centre for the citizens of Paris. You can hear this concert at Radio Classique from 21st June for 3 months.

Johannes Berauer’s Hourglass on tour

Gwilym will play a set with vibraphonist Joe Locke at Kings Place on 5th September before the album launch of a new album out on Basho “Hourglass” featuring new music by Austrian composer Johannes Berauer.  Other early September dates with Hourglass include Ambleside Days, Watermill Jazz Club and Stapleford Priory.  There are two more dates in December at RNCM Manchester and The Attenborough Centre in December

Gwilym on tour in Europe, US and Canada with “An Evening with Pat Metheny”

Gwilym will be back on tour with jazz legend guitarist Pat Metheny.  The quartet includes Pat, Gwilym,  Linda Oh (bass) and Antonio Sanchez (drums).  The concert is called “An Evening with Pat Metheny” and features  many of the great classics from the Pat Metheny Real Book. Do check the dates for more information. On April 16th Pat Metheny was honoured in Washington D.C. as an NEA Jazz Master. Read More

Gwilym to play on BBC Radio 3 on 24th March as part of the Debussy celebrations

Julian Joseph will present Gwilym’s jazz influenced version of Debussy’s Children’s Corner Suite specially arranged for piano, saxophone and string quartet.  The piece was recorded at the BBC’s studios in Salford and features Simmy Singh (violin), Lucy McKay (violin), Francesca Gilbert (viola), Rachel Shakespeare (cello), Rob Buckland (soprano and tenor saxes) and Gwilym Simcock on grand piano.

Gwilym  will be playing 2 concerts with the Northern Chamber Orchestra on January 12th and 13th 2018

Gwilym will be joining forces with the Northern Chamber Orchestra in January for two concerts featuring his music. On the 12th they will appear at the new Stoller Hall at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester where Gwilym was a student and then on 13th at Macclesfield Heritage Centre.

Gwilym playing 20th anniversary concert at Wiltshire Music Festival

Gwilym  will be playing a special 20th anniversary concert at Wiltshire Music Centre on 9th December 2017

Gwilym  and leading saxophonist Rob Buckland join forces with a classical string quartet to perform original compositions and arrangements inspired by French music and musicians. Drawing on their wide ranging experience as collaborative jazz artists, they will explore links between jazz, improvisation and the music of Debussy, Dutilleux and Ravel.
